LinkedIn messages in your own voice: style & context in inboundy

Why AI messages often sound like AI

Most tools know exactly one thing about you: your LinkedIn profile. What comes out is a message that is grammatically clean and still sounds like nobody — because the tool knows nothing about how you talk, what your company actually does, and which sentences you would never write.

Since 16 September, inboundy can know three more things. All three live in Settings under Style & context.

1. About you and your company – in your words

One text field, up to 1,200 characters: who you are, what you offer, for whom. The AI uses this context only when your message goal calls for it — an introduction, a reason for reaching out. It does not start listing services.

If you would rather not write it: enter your website address and load it. inboundy reads the page once, summarizes in three to five sentences what the company does, and you edit the text if it is off. Nothing is reloaded per message.

2. How I write – two or three real messages

This is the part with the biggest effect. Adjectives like "casual" or "direct" mean little to a language model; examples mean a lot. Two or three messages you would send yourself are enough. The AI takes greeting, sentence length, directness and the closing from them — never the content. Names, companies and topics from your examples never show up in a message.

3. Learning from your edits

In review mode you rewrite drafts before they go out. Exactly these pairs — *the draft* and *what you actually sent* — now reach the AI as a model, the last five of them. No training, no waiting: the next message knows your last correction. The switch is called "Learn from my edits" and can be turned off.

See it before you believe it

Below the fields there is a test: pick a list, enter a goal, generate two previews — left without, right with your style pack, for a real contact from your list. Nothing is sent.

Also new: follow up only with repliers

Under Messages → Follow-up you can now choose "Only those who replied". Until now, follow-up always meant repliers *plus* contacts without a reply after two days. If you only want to continue conversations that are already running, pick the new switch; the counter next to it shows right away how many that is. And in review mode there is a small arrow next to every name that opens the conversation directly on LinkedIn — in case you would rather reply yourself.

If you do not need it

Users without a style pack notice nothing: the generator works as before. Only once fields are filled does the tone change.
